Siberia
Siberia is part of Russia, but is also included in the Alaska section of this website because of its coast on the Bering Sea. The Spirit of Oceanus was able to stop at the small village of Yanrakynnot to see a picture of life in a remote Siberian community. It felt as though many of those people had never seen a Westerner before. Although very poor, these people seemed relatively happy and proud, with some ambitious plans and hopes for the future.
