Grand Pacific Glacier
Glacier Bay, Grand Pacific Glacier
The Grand Pacific Glacier is the largest of the parks great glaciers, but is not nearly as active as many of the others. A few years ago, it actually advanced a bit, but not a lot of activity lately. As a result, the face of the glacier does not have that bright blue face to it, and up close is sometimes confused as being land from all the dirt and rocks on it. It is actually located primarily within Canada, the face of it being only a mile or so within the United States.
