Reid Glacier

Glacier Bay, Reid Glacier

Reid Glacier is like most of the glaciers in that it is rapidly retreating.  It is now about to lose its status as a tidewater glacier as it pulls back on the land. In the foreground is a moraine with gravel left from the glacier.  Behind this, the glacier does touch the water, but at low tide the glacier barely meets the water.
