This photographer prepares to take some pictures of the ice field. Photography in the snow, especially in bright sunlight, can be very challenging as the bright light tends to fool the light meter. Generally, it helps to overexpose the picture a bit. Better yet is to bracket the exposure, which means to take several pictures, some over and some under exposed.
