Juneau
Juneau is the capital of Alaska, and the largest of the southeast Alaskan cities. It has a heavy tourist season in the summer, and a busy political season the rest of the year. Lurking behind the town is the huge Juneau Ice Field, larger than some of our smaller states, giving birth to multiple glaciers. It was settled after gold was discovered just behind the present day downtown. Just about every cruise ship that goes to Alaska stops in Juneau.
