State Capitol

Juneau, State Capitol

Juneau is the capital of Alaska, the 49th state.  With a population of only about 20,000 people, Juneau a small capital, but with a land area of over 3000 square miles, it is the nation's largest capital in physical size, and the second largest city in the country (behind Sitka, with an area of about 4700 square miles).  The state capitol building looks more like a bank building than a capitol, but seems to function well for the people of Alaska.
