Air Traffic Controllers in Ketchikan are some of the busiest in the country, as they have to monitor lots of small plane traffic, as well as the ferry to the airport (on an island separate from the town) and all the ship and boat traffic. Ketchikan can only be reached by plane or ship - there are no roads that connect with the mainland.
