Ketchikan
Ketchikan is the first town most people come to when coming to Alaska via the Inside Passage. It is the most southern of the major towns, and is also the rainiest. Ketchikan is one of the most visited towns by cruise ships, and their tourist shops have pretty much taken over the town near the docks. But there are fascinating totem parks north and south of town, and lots of 'real Alaska' just beyond the downtown tourist area.
