Hoonah, Brown Bear
Hoonah is a great place to see brown bears. Unfortunately, one of the nearly guaranteed places to see them is at the town dump. Brown bears are the largest bears anywhere in the world. They are genetically the same as the grizzly bears to the north, but tend to grow much larger, probably because of the nearly unlimited food supply.
