Sitka, Bald Eagle
Sitka has lots of bald eagles, especially in the early spring during the Herring Roe season. When the herring lay their roe (eggs) the eagles show up by the thousands. I remember seeing as many as a hundred eagles visible at the same time. Sitka is also host to the area's largest raptor rehab center, where injured eagles and other birds are treated, and most are eventually released to the wild.
