Mt Edgecumbe

Mt Edgecumbe is a 3000 ft high volcano that is the most prominent landmark in Sitka. It is a symmetrical volcano, much like Mt Fugi in Japan. Though it is considered dormant, it has caused some scares in the past when a wealthy practical joker filled the crater with old tires, and one day set them afire, with black smoke billowing from the crater.
