Sitka National Historic Park
The Sitka National Historic Park commemorates the battles between the Tlingits and the Russians, but is primarily a celebration of local native culture. Behind the visitors center is this beautiful walk through the lush forest, with a series of totem poles. Many of these totem poles look like they truly belong there, like they grew in with the trees. Further down the walk is a bridge that crosses a stream that during season is completely full with salmon swimming up river to spawn.
