Alaska Marine Higway

Skagway

The Alaska Marine Highway is not a system of roads,  but the state ferry system that connects the various towns and villages of Alaska, particularly the ones not reachable by roads.  It is possible to go from Bellingham, Washington, all the way to Unalaska on the Aleutian Islands.  During the summer tourist season, some of the ferries have forest service naturalists aboard who give talks about the area.  This one heads to the dock in Skagway.
