Skagway

At the northern tip of the Inside Passage is the town of Skagway, host to the Klondike Gold Rush.  Today, much of the downtown is a restored version of the gold rush era, and is full of gift shops for the summer cruise ship population.  But the history is fascinating, and can be traced in many locations, including the Chilkoot trail and the White Pass and Yukon Railway.  Beyond the downtown glitz is a pleasant small town.
