Atigun Pass

Atigun Pass, Dalton Highway

I really don't have many pictures of Atigun Pass itself, as it was socked-in with fog.  This is coming down the north side.  The highway crosses the Continental Divide at Atigun Pass in the Brooks Range, at a height of 4739 feet, the highest road in the Alaska road system.

They really weren't drunk when they built the pipeline (well, at least some of them weren't) - it was built with these zigzags to accommodate movement from freeze-thaw cycles and from earthquakes.
