Musk Ox Farm
Palmer
During the Great Depression, President Roosevelt started a program where he sent families from the dust bowl states to the Matsu Valley in Alaska, which was unaffected by the drought problems down south. They were given transportation, materials, and taught the skills to make their own barns and homes. Many did well, though a lot ended up going back home. Some of those barns are still standing today, and are a symbol of the Palmer area. This particular farm is a Musk Ox breeding facility.
