Katmai

Katmai National Park is most famous for its brown bears, with the most popular spot being the Brooks River, and the McNeil River just outside the park.  Katmai can only be reached by boat or by plane.  It is also famous for its volcanoes and the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes.    We will concentrate on the brown bears at Geographic Bay, a coastal portion of the park, and Brooks Camp located in a more interior portion of the park.
