Davidson Ditch, Steese Highway
This pipeline looks a lot like the Alyeska Oil Pipeline, but it is actually much older, and was used to transport water to fuel the gold dredging operations. The ditch starts at a dam on the upper Chatanika River and starts out as a 12 foot wide ditch in the ground extending for 83 miles including seven miles of this 48 inch pipe and over a mile of tunnels.
