Downtown Chicken
Chicken
This is downtown Chicken, the only town along the road. There are no flush toilets or land-line phones here. Chicken supposedly got its name during the gold rush era, when settlers wanted to call it Ptarmigan after the bird that was a staple in their diets, but they couldn't spell it, so they settled for Chicken, which was its more common name.
