Anchorage has a very impressive network of bike, hiking, and cross-country ski trails that run throughout the city. They are well maintained and lit up at night. Some run along the coast, while others, like this one, run right through the middle of the city. You can go for miles with very little feel that you are even in a city. It is common to see moose and other wildlife on these trails.
