Mt. Kinabalu

Mt. Kinabalu, at 4101 meters (about 13,500 feet ) in height, is the largest mountain in Southeast Asia between the Himalayas and New Guinea. It is a popular climb and the trail is well marked with water available at frequent intervals and a rest house at about 3300 meters, where most people stay the evening before ascending to the top, in order to avoid the inevitable mid-day rains. The record time for going up and down is 2 hours and 42 minutes, though I believe I set the record for the slowest time.  Most people take about two days.
