Orangutans

Orangutans share 97 percent of the same genes with humans.  Their behaviors are amazingly human as well. They are incredibly strong and adept at navigating through the trees.  Their feet function essentially as an extra set of hands, making them even more agile.  Unfortunately, their survival in the wild is threatened, due to loss of habitat and also poaching.  These pictures are primarily from the Orangutan reserve in Sepilok and a group of orangutans at Poring Hot Springs near the base of Mt. Kinabalu.
