Rainforest Floating Down River
Kinabatangan River
A long trail of logs is pulled downriver for harvesting and to clear out rainforest for palm plantations. A few foreign people make huge fortunes from the logging business, with little benefit to the locals. The river is host to fascinating wildlife populations, but now much of the river's forest is only a couple of hundred meters thick on both sides of the river, with forest all clear-cut beyond that.
