Deer Cave Bats
Gunung Mulu National Park, Deer Cave Bats
Every afternoon or evening, bats fly out from the Deer Cave. They head out all over the surrounding area, and return by morning to the cave where the sleep during the day. To visit the cave is a memorable experience. The cave floor is filled with fresh bat guano, and is constantly moving with insects that cover the guano. The smell is like ammonia.
