Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar is a medieval observatory with many strange shaped large sculptures that are actually astronomical instruments. Five of these observatories were built in different cities - the one here in Jaipur is the largest. The ones pictured here are called Ram Yantra, used to determine the celestial arc from horizon to zenith and the altitude of the sun.
