INDIA

India is a fascinating collection of people and cultures.  It will soon be the most populated country in the World.  Extremely diverse cultures meld together in the streets of India, with all aspects of life played out right on the streets.  India is both fascinating and frustrating at the same time.  The colors, sounds, and  smells can be almost overwhelming, while the touts (vendors) and beggars are downright obnoxious and do not take no for an answer. The food is some of the most flavorful anywhere. I was there for the month of March, 2003, and for me the heat was very intolerable much of the time. This visit was part of a small group tour conducted by a company out of Australia called Intrepid Travel. It covers an area around Delhi, into Rajasthan to the west and to the Ganges River at Varanasi to the east.
