Built in 72 AD, and ready for use 8 years later, this architectural masterpiece has really withstood the test of time. Most of what is missing now was removed to build other buildings. Many of the stories about feeding Christians to the lions does not appear to be true, but there were fights between animals and people, and often the people were criminals.
