Rome

The capital of Italy and the center of the great empire that started it all.  Rome is a city of great monuments and history.  But it is also a very crowded, congested city, and at least when I was there, full of scaffolding. Rome surrounds another country in its entirety, the Vatican City, but that will be covered on its own page.
