Selinunte

Selinunte was established in 628 BC, and originally had seven temples, most of which lie in ruins now.  What is left is still very impressive.  This was one of Ancient Greece's most prosperous settlements, but its location near the north coast of Africa made it easily and frequently attacked by the Carthaginians.
