San Marcos Campanile
Venice, St Marcos Square and Campanile
A campanile is a bell tower. This is a hundred year old replica of the tower which stood here for a thousand years before it fell over. It provides great views of the city and the area. It is also a good way to keep dry at high tides when the piazza below floods.
