Nagasaki Peace Park

The Peace Park is located on a hill very near the hypocenter. Nagasaki was not the first choice for the second atomic bomb, but weather prevented it from being dropped on its intended target. As it was, Nagasaki only got bombed because of a small break in the clouds. Unlike the bomb in Hiroshima, this one missed its mark somewhat, hitting a small village just outside the city. Although the bomb was larger than the one at Hiroshima, the topography of the hills and harbor limited the casualties and damage somewhat.
