Generally in Morocco, people do not like having their picture taken, and some are quite upset even seeing a camera hanging from your neck. Tremendous photo opportunities are lost by trying to remain culturally sensitive and avoiding taking people pictures. Yet, surprisingly, the opposite is also sometimes true. After asking a vendor if I could take his picture, the one next to him then asked me to take his picture, then others wanted theirs done, and after a while it became annoying as so many of them were demanding I take their picture that I couldn't really explore and enjoy the Medina. This happened at several places in Morocco.
