Emerald Lakes
Emerald Lakes, Tongariro Crossing, Tongariro National Park, New Zealand
After reaching the top of Red Crater Peak, the view opens to the Emerald Lakes. These beautiful ponds are a very unusual green colour, presumably due to the mineral content. I expected they would be quite hot, but the water was actually quite cool.
