Steep Section
Tongariro Crossing, Tongariro National Park, New Zealand
This picture is dark, because it is very early in the morning, and the sun is just starting to come up. The trail starts with a nice flat area, and then climbs up the steep lava flow ahead. It doesn't look all that steep in this picture, but it was quite difficult and got me worried of what was to come. It was the most difficult part of the whole hike.
