Avalon

Avalon is the large H shaped peninsula that makes up the eastern part of the island.  It hosts St. Johns which is the capital of the province as well as the financial, academic, and social center.  It is also the other end of the ferry system, where many people arrive at or leave the island from. Most of this peninsula is still very rural and dotted with small fishing villages.
