NEWFOUNDLAND
The full name of the province is Newfoundland and Labrador, but this page will concentrate on the island of Newfoundland, as I have not yet been to Labrador. Newfoundland is a large, mostly unspoiled, rocky island with a rugged coastline, extremely friendly people, bad roads, beautiful scenery, great lighthouses, fascinating wildlife, interesting Viking history, quaint fishing villages, a very poor economy, few tourists, and even fewer vegetables in the restaurants.
