Cape Elizabeth, Two Lights State Park
South of Portland at Cape Elizabeth is the Two Lights State Park. Two lighthouses were placed very near each other so distance and direction could be evaluated by the relationship of the lighthouses to each other from out at sea. Unfortunately, the lighthouses are privately owned and not accessible to the public. The one pictured is still used as an active lighthouse, while the other is now merely part of someone's house.
