Locomotive Tracks
Gatun Locks
These are tracks which the locomotives take to keep the ships aligned as the water fills the locks. The locomotives do not actually pull the ships. The ships need to enter and navigate the canal on their own power. The locomotives help to keep them aligned properly in the canal, preventing damage to both the ship and the canal.
