Portobelo

Portobelo was a Spanish fort for about two centuries, and was used to store gold stolen from Peru before it was shipped on to Spain.  Christopher Columbus used this harbor in 1502.  Sir Francis Drake died and was buried somewhere out in the bay. His coffin or remains have not yet been found.
