Moorea
For those who are into rankings, this is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful islands in the south Pacific. Though I don't tend to like those rankings, I would tend to agree with this one. It is certainly near the top of my list. It is a high volcanic island with steep narrow peaks and lush vegetation. There are resorts, but more subtle than on Tahiti or Bora Bora. There is a much more relaxed feel to this island than most of the other tourist islands here, despite being only about fourteen miles from Tahiti. I visited it on New Years Day.
