Gaferut Atoll Turtle Tracks
Gaferut Atoll, Yap, Federated States of Micronesia
A turtle had gone ashore the night before and deposited hundreds of her eggs. Despite being on this well protected island, very few of the eggs will make it to adulthood. Interestingly, the sex each turtle becomes is dependent on the temperature of their egg during development. I wonder how global warming will affect that balance.
