Boarded Skyscraper

Fort Worth, Bank One Tower

The Bank One Tower in downtown Fort Worth was slammed by a tornado a few years back.  When I was there, it was a fascinating scene of a plywood covered skyscraper.  Very few windows were left unscathed. I was told that it was not considered structurally sound, and would have to be taken down, but for some reason it could not be imploded.  An interesting quandary.  More recently though, I have heard that they felt the building was salvageable and they were converting it into apartments and office space. It is now known simply as, "The Tower". The amazing thing to me is that the tornado hit during work hours and nobody inside the building was killed. I think someone down below may have been killed from the debris though.
