Texas Wildflowers

Texas is famous for its wildflowers, especially the bluebonnet, which is the state flower.  Lady Bird Johnson, wife of the late president from Texas, started the efforts to beautify our roads and countryside.  Every year, the state department of transportation drops literally tons of wildflower seeds along the sides of Texas roadways.  Many of these are also wild. Most of these pictures concentrate on the Hill Country region of the state, west of Austin.
