Full Moon over Escalante

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument

Not far from the town of Escalante is an area of some impressive slickrock.  I was fortunate to catch this full moon as I arrived there. This photograph is real.  Often, when you see a well exposed full moon in a night shot (perhaps of a city skyline), it is a superimposed picture.  A full moon is too bright to get an appropriate exposure of it, and a dimly artificially lit area as well.  But this picture was taken while there was still some light, so the exposure is real.
