Mormon Temple

Salt Lake City, Mormon Temple
Temple square is the central focus of the city and the heart of the Mormon Church. Free tours are offered of much of the square, but only Mormons of good standing are allowed inside the temple itself. The temple is used only for special functions such as baptisms and marriages, but not for regular services. Anyone going inside must be dressed in white. The walls at the base are nine feet thick. It took forty years to build.
